Intellectual Disability Assessment

Enquire today and our Wellness Care Consultants will ensure you are matched with the right assessment, providing value for money.

Our intellectual disability assessment focuses on evaluating adaptive skills and functioning across the lifespan, with a focus on:

  • Communication
  • Daily living skills
  • Socialisation

This assessment includes both cognitive assessments and adaptive functioning questionnaires, which help identify learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other intellectual disabilities. Understanding the impacts of intellectual disabilities allows us to develop effective plans and accommodations tailored to the individual’s needs. The results can also assist in applications for government or school disability funding and special provisions.

These assessments are available for individuals aged 6 and up.

Intelligence Test

Cost: Children $1,750, Adults $1,550

Intelligence testing helps determine an individual’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Our cognitive assessments can identify:

  • Intellectual giftedness: Helping determine eligibility for special classes or talented programs, as well as guiding teachers to provide them with extension activities in classroom settings
  • Learning and intellectual difficulties: A cognitive assessment could assist in identifying any struggles and help teachers and employers make appropriate accommodations, which can be crucialin managing negative experiences such as poor academic performance, low self-esteem, and workplace challenges

Intelligence tests measure various cognitive abilities, including:

  • Verbal comprehension
  • Perceptual reasoning
  • Working memory
  • Processing speed
  • Fluid reasoning

Intellectual testing is available for children aged 6 years to 16 years 11 months, and adults aged 16 to 90 years.

All testing sessions will involve an initial interview to gain background information, testing sessions to administer the assessments and any relevant questionnaires, and a final feedback session following the completion of report writing to help you understand the final results and recommendations provided.

It should be noted that for all of these tests, there is no guarantee of a diagnosis. All diagnoses are dependent on observations and results of assessments and questionnaires. In some situations, a recommendation may be given for further testing. However, all tests will include recommendations for the client and a focus on the strengths and weaknesses identified in the individual regardless of whether a diagnosis is given or not.

If a combination of assessments is needed, please speak to our team to discuss your options.
