What is Clinical Reformer Pilates?

Clinical Reformer Pilates is a physiotherapist-led exercise method that utilises a reformer machine. Designed with resistance-based movements, it provides a gentle yet effective way to strengthen your body while minimising strain on your joints. It is versatile, low-impact, and allows you to build strength at your own pace.

At The Wellness Practice, we specialise in creating tailored programs that unlock your body’s ability to move with ease. Our clinical reformer pilates in Chermside is led by experienced Physiotherapists who can give you the support you need to recover from an injury, improve mobility, or simply build strength in your movement.

  • Recovery, Self Care, Both?

Clinical reformer Pilates can help with a long list of health challenges, including pre- or post-natal care, spending too much time in an office chair, injury rehabilitation, arthritis, osteoporosis…or if you just want a new exercise regimen.

  • One-on-One Assessment

The first step will be a one-on-one consultation with an accredited physiotherapist who will evaluate your mobility, health concerns, and fitness objectives. This will be used to develop an effective program.

Parinaz’ philosophy as a physiotherapist is focused on empowering clients through education. By helping them understand their injury or condition, as well as the factors that caused it, she enables them to actively participate in their own recovery process. She believes in increasing an individual’s capacity to handle greater physical loads, which plays a key role in injury prevention. Her approach to healthcare is centered around a client-focused, holistic model. Her areas of expertise include musculoskeletal conditions (acute and chronic), sports injuries, prehabilitation for joint replacement surgeries, post-operative rehabilitation, back and neck pain, joint and muscle pain, tendinopathy and tendon repair, arthritis management, and manual therapy techniques (e.g., joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy). “I have successfully helped clients recover from injuries, manage pain, and restore mobility through tailored treatment plans. My holistic approach combines manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and patient education to ensure long-term success and prevent re-injury. I also enjoy using Pilates-based exercises in prehab and rehab of clients, management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and general strength and conditioning.”

Benefits of Clinical Reformer Pilates

Clinical reformer pilates is a whole-body workout that delivers both physical and mental health benefits. Here’s how it can support your well-being:

  • Core Strength and Stability: Targeted core activation helps improve posture, enhance balance, and reduce injury risk. Strengthening the deep core muscles supports spinal alignment and reduces strain on surrounding joints.
  • Improved Movement and Flexibility: The reformer’s smooth, controlled movements encourage greater mobility and flexibility, helping to relieve stiffness and improve your full range of motion.
  • Boosted Fitness Levels: With adjustable resistance settings, reformer pilates builds strength, enhances cardiovascular health, and contributes to weight management—all within a low-impact framework.
  • Mind-Body Connection: By combining breath control, mindful movement, and focused exercises, reformer pilates promotes mental clarity. It also enhances body awareness, helping you move with greater ease and control.
